Teaching families about good dental health

Welcome

Teach kids and families the importance of healthy teeth by using the Cavity Free Kids curriculum. Make a serious subject fun for all ages. Kids learn through fun, hands on, play-based activities in the preschool classroom. Adults are learning, too — pregnant women, parents, and classroom staff members.

The Cavity Free Kids curriculum contains two parts:

  • Oral Health Education for Preschoolers and Their Families
  • An Early Start: Oral Health Education for Pregnant Women, Infants and Toddlers

Why worry about oral health?

  • Dental disease is the most common chronic childhood disease.
  • While all kids are at risk for dental decay, there are disparities and low income families suffer twice as much oral disease and are more likely to be untreated.
  • Pain and suffering from untreated dental disease can lead to problems eating, speaking, and attending to learning.

Dental disease is preventable!

The Cavity Free Kids curriculum is designed to equip teachers, parents and children to prevent dental decay and is one piece in the solution.
